Rules and Regulations
General Information
   Entry fees for all entries must accompany the respective entry form and all late entries will be charged double the regular entry fees. All entry fees are non-refundable.   Entries must be postmarked by Aug. 10, 2007. NSR reserves the right to close entries because of pen space limitations anytime after the printed entry deadline.
   All hogs entered at a National Barrow Show ® (NBS ®)must have been owned by exhibitor from date of birth. Exhibitor must have owned the sow when pig entered was born.
   All entries must be ear notched using the official NSR system. (Starting with litter number 1 in January and again in July each year.) All entries must be registered through NSR by Sept. 2, 2007, or they will be processed with rush fee.
   Entries will be divided into classes as equal as possible by farrowing ate. No clipping s allowed n the barn.

DNA Stress Test
  
No known stress positive or stress carrier animals will be allowed to be exhibited or sold at any NSR-sponsored event. Such warranty is, however, solely that of the seller and not that of the American Yorkshire Club, Hampshire Swine Registry, United Duroc Swine Registry or American Landrace Association, and the American Yorkshire Club, Hampshire Swine Registry, United Duroc Swine Registry and the American Landrace Association assume no responsibility or liability in connection with such warranty by the seller. If any animal sold at the NBS® is found to be a stress gene carrier, the purchaser has the right to receive full refund of the purchase price from the seller. DNA testing for the stress gene must be done within 30 days of the date of sale and all cost associated with the testing for the stress gene must be paid by the purchaser.  The seller has the right to review the test results and the right to re-test the animal at a laboratory of his choice. Cost associated with re-test by the seller is at the seller ’s expense. There will be no refund of NSR commission from tress carrier animals.

Breeding Animal Sale
   A minimum of 60 percent of the number of each sex (boars and gilts) shown will be selected for the sale. These animals will be selected by the judge with no set number selling from any single class.  Exhibitors with animals not selected for the sale may consign their animals to the sale for an additional fee of $220 per head. If the animal sells, the fee will be applied towards the sale commission. If the animal does not sell, the fee is forfeited.

   All animals selected and cataloged for the sale must go through the auction. Sale commission will be 15 percent for all animals.
   Any exhibitor who has an account with the Registry 60 days or greater past due, will have funds from the sale of their animals applied to their past-due account.

All Exhibitors
   All hogs must be farrowed on or after Feb, 2007.
   All entries are limited to four boars and four pen gilts per breed.
   All hogs must have at least six functional teats per side and must meet their respective breed registration requirements. Any animal that does not meet their respective breed requirements will not be allowed to be exhibited or sold. Every hog must be accompanied by a registration certificate.

Special Breed Requirements
   By entering any animal in the NBS®, the owner warrants that the animal meets specific breed requirements.
   If any animal sold at the NBS® does not meet the color requirements after being tested through the procedures approved by Hampshire Swine Registry, American Landrace Association and American Yorkshire Club, the seller agrees that he will promptly refund the full purchase price to he buyer.
   Such warranty is, however, solely that of the seller and not that of Hampshire Swine Registry, American Landrace Association and American Yorkshire Club, and the Hampshire Swine Registry, American Landrace Association and American Yorkshire Club assume no responsibility or liability in connection with such warranty by the seller.
   There will be no refund of NSR commission from animals failing to meet their color test requirements.

Health Regulations
   Each animal must have an ORIGINAL official interstate health certificate or certificate of veterinary inspection from state of origin, issued by a licensed accredited veterinarian. Certificate must show: consignor ’s name and address, consigned to NBS®, Austin, Minn., individual identification of animal; and health status of animal including dates and laboratory location of required tests and vaccinations.
  
All Swine Must Have individual Health Certificates, issued After Aug. 17, 2007, And A duplicate Of each Certificate. remember, Only One Animal per Health certificate.

   A. All animals must be tested for Pseudo- rabies (PRV) and Brucellosis after Aug 17, 2007, unless they come from a PRV qualified and Brucellosis validated herd. Swine tested for PRV and Brucellosis must show the date blood sample was drawn (month, day & year). The Elisa, PCFIA, ALA, or S/N tests are acceptable – (Differentiable Elisa test WILL NOT be accepted).  If the herd of origin is PRV qualified and brucellosis validated, individual testing of the swine will not be required.  In this case, the PRV qualification and Brucellosis validation numbers must appear on the health certificate and complete date (month, day & year) must be stated on certificate.
   B. All breeding swine coming to the show MUST be vaccinated against Lepto (6 way) including Bratislava and erysipelas .The complete date of vaccination MUST be listed on the health certificate. Market animals should not be vaccinated.
   C. All health papers must include the following statement that the swine ’s farm of origin has not had pseudo rabies or swine dysentery in the past 12 months, has not had TGE in the past 60 days, feeds no garbage, uses no PRV vaccine, and is not under quarantine for any disease condition; also that vesicular stomastitis has not been diagnosed within 10 miles of the farm f origin within the past 30 days.
   D. All trucks carrying animals must enter the east gate of Mower County Fairgrounds and stop for inspection by the show veterinarian. All animal must meet NBS® health requirements to remain on the fairgrounds. This includes animals in transit.
   A) If all animals meet show requirements, NBS® hogs may be unloaded and remaining animals (non-entries) may stay in your vehicle at the south end of the fairgrounds. There is some hade, but o utilities are available.
   B) If non-show animals meet Minnesota import requirements, but not NBS ® requirements, show animals may be unloaded and all remaining animals must be immediately removed from the fairgrounds. A parking lot is available south of the fairgrounds across the street.  The welfare and care of these animals is the owner ’s responsibility.  There is some shade, but no utilities are available.
   C) If any animals on your vehicle do not meet Minnesota import requirements, all animals will be refused entry, including NBS ® show animals.
   Hogs must arrive on grounds between 8 a.m. Saturday, Sept 8, 2007, and 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept 9, 2007.
